6 / How long will it take for my child to be able to swim?

The UK national curriculum states children should be able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres using a range of all 4 strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

In line with this, your swimmer should be able to complete this upon finishing Stage 7. Progressing your child to this level will be dependent on many factors as all children learn at a different rate.

7 / Are your lessons suitable for SEND children?

Lessons are group based with up to six children per class and require children to have the capability to be independent in the water and able to take instructions from our teachers. We don’t currently offer SEN or disability-specific sessions. However, your venue may have one-to-one lessons on offer which may be suitable. Please contact us should you wish to discuss any information specific to your child.

8 / Does my child need to wear a swimming hat?

We don’t enforce hats however encourage swimmers with long hair to wear one to help keep their hair out of their face when swimming and support in keeping our swimming pools clean!

9 / What happens if my child misses a lesson?

As per our terms and conditions we are unable to provide an alternative lesson when your child's regular lesson was missed. This is because you are holding a place in their specific class and due to our small ratio of 6 we are unable to accommodate additional lessons.

10 / Will my child recieve certificates?

When a swimmer achieves a Swim England award, you will receive an email with a link to order these online. This is then posted directly to your house.

Our swimmer of the month certificates are handed out to swimmers at the pool!

11 / How do I pay for my child's lessons?

You will make a one off payment when booking into a class, this will pay for the lessons for the remainder of the month. You will also set up a recurring card payment, meaning on the 1st of each month your payment will be taken to cover the upcoming lessons in that month.

12 / How can I track my child's progress?

You can track your swimmers progress by logging into your online account with our system provider, soakly.

You can also click the link on the top right of this page to our 'member area' and this will take you to the log in page. Once you log in you are able to see what your child is working towards and once they achieve it. Our teachers update your child's progress once per month

13 / What happens if I want to cancel?

We understand circumstances can change but we’ll always do whatever we can to keep your swimmer with us. You can request to cancel by emailing enquiries@swiftswimmers.co.uk and a member of the team will be in touch. We request, 14 days notice from your next recurring card payment date to finalise your cancellation.

An adult will need to participate in our adult & child lessons for those aged 0-3.

For our learn to swim lessons (ages 3+), teachers are in the water for stage 1, 2 & 3 groups so no need for you to get wet!

15 / Do I have to stay on site while my child is having a swimming lesson?

Yes, all children should be accompanied by an adult, who must stay at the venue for the duration of the lesson. We do have a spectator rota which allows you to sit on poolside every second or third week to watch the lesson.
